Q1Why do we need to know the carbon footprint of MICE（*）events?
A． With global focus on the nature of sustainable societies, people are looking for ways to sustainably hold events that create a balance between environment, society and economy because MICE events require the movement of many people and objects and consume many resources where the event is held. This tool helps you to understand the actual situation and gives indicators to formulate a concrete action plan to reduce your carbon footprint.

Q2CO2Is carbon footprint calculation free?
A． Yes, you can use this tool free of charge.
Q3Can I do the calculation even if I don’t have the data for all the categories?
A． Yes, if you input the basic information, you can calculate only the categories you are interested in.
Q4Is there anything I need to prepare before doing the calculation?
A． The calculation will go smoothly if you prepare quotes, quote details, invoices, invoice details for each category in advance.

Q5Can I use this tool for conferences outside of Tokyo?
A． This tool is programmed to calculate figures based on holding events in Tokyo so calculations may not be accurate for regions outside of Tokyo.
Q6Can I save the calculation results?
A． Results are not saved if you close the browser. If you would like to save and refer to the results at a later date, please set an ID and password from the save input data link at the top right of the screen, then save.
By using your issued login ID and password, you will be able to change or add figures. You will also be able to download calculated results in PDF format.
Q7There is a notification to Accept All Cookies. What does this entail?
A． This notification is to confirm whether you agree to the use of your browsing information, etc. with the aim of improving the convenience of this tool. Please be assured that user privacy is properly protected and personally identifiable information will not be used without user consent.
Q8Can I ask for advice on sustainable conference/event initiatives over and above carbon footprint calculation?
A． Yes, please direct any enquiries to the Sustainable MICE Support Desk.
